I agree. Or even a simple way to record and enter coordinates.  I find myself racing against my own time trying to beat them.

Thank you.  This  work gives the game room to grow and allows users to extend this game even further.

Just want to say, I am enjoy  reading your development log. Your log gives  interesting insights into your creative process.  I can’t help but reflect on my board and PC gaming experiences after reading these.  Thanks.

Thanks Neil for v.0.6 .  Very unexpected and appreciated. l I look forward to trying it out.

Sounds like a challenge. I’ll give it try.  😀

I  still enjoy sailing and testing this model.

I plotted a Polar Diagram,  by plotting speed that were developed on various points of sail. I tested points 7-16, against wind Forces 5 and 3.  In both diagrams the best speeds were made with the winds at  points 8-11. The slowest speed was directly down wind , as it should be. At 6 points and less speed drops off quickly-as it should.

Ship tacking and wearing seemed natural and fluid under different wind speeds  and sea conditions. No glaring problems.

Its been my RL experience that no two modern production sloops sail the same.  I can only imagine how ships from the 1800s  would have differed. The point Im trying  to make is don't get lost in the weed with the physics. If the model sails well and hits the key parameters -work with it. Don't worry too much about glitchy physics . Anyway,  I have enjoyed playing with it and hope you decide to to do something with your model.

Thank you for the chance to try your "unfinished" simulation.   It was easy to DL and install. The graphics and sound were good and better and than I expected. The mouse, keyboard and hud worked fine too. The "Instructions" were helpful and adequate to get started playing.

The "Painted Ocean" seems well-researched, and had me reaching for my copy of John Harland's "Seamanship: In the Age of Sail".   I sincerely hope you find the time to return to it.

I would like to volunteer with any help I can provide . I do have small boat sailing experience, and  sci knowledge of C++ (but not game or sim programming  per-say) No experience with Unity  but willing to learn.
